BEKAS AHLI MT UMNO HUTANG KASINO RM7.1 JUTA

FORMER UMNO SUPREME COUNCIL MEMBER
IN DEBT WITH CASINO FOR RM7.1 MILLION

The Kota Kinabalu High Court yesterday dismissed an application by The Ritz Hotel Casino to recover RM7.1 million in gambling debts from former Sabah Chief Minister Osu Sukam.

Ritz Hotel had earlier obtained a judgment in the English High Courts ordering Osu to repay the debts obtained in the form of credit for gambling activities in the casino. Ritz Hotel through its representative had applied in the high court to enforce the English judgement which was however dismissed by Justice Ian Chin.

We do not dispute the judges decision.

The issue here is the fact that the high court had never at any one time denied that RM7,142,859.98 credit was given to Osu for gambling purposes. Therefore it shows that Osu had indeed obtained the credit, gambled it and lost the whole lot all on the gambling table!

RM7 million could accommodate 200 families in low cost houses in Selangor! Osu, the former Umno supreme council member (2000 2003) and former Sabah Chief Minister (1999 2001) burnt it overnight through gambling.

Osu might have been rescued by this high court decision in Kota Kinabalu, however Allahs court in the hereafter awaits him. Gambling is strictly prohibited in Islam irrespective whether one is in England or Malaysia.
